We are going to work majorly with the following bible references:  Genesis 12:17-19, Exodus 20;14, Leviticus 20:10-23, Proverbs 5:3-5, 20-23; 6:23-33; 7:24-27; Matthew 5:27-30; I Thess 4:3-7, Gal.5:19; Eph. 5:3, Heb. 13:4, I Cor. 7:3-5.

Introduction:-

1. Facts about purity

Purity is one of the characters or attributes of God.  He values purity.  He desires and expects all living souls to be pure in heart and in deed. God is so particular about purity that He says in His word that only pure people will be allowed into His kingdom (Rev. 21:27).  Jesus says in Matthew 5:8 that purity is one of the sources of real happiness and fulfillment in life.

2. Sexual Intercourse

Sexual intercourse is part of God’s design.  God reserves sexual intercourse for marriage relationship only.  Outside marriage it is not pure and does not receive God’s blessing.  Sex is not evil.  It is evil when practiced and used outside God’s approved boundaries and plans.

But over the ages, people have practiced and used sex outside the maker’s instructions and have committed all manners of evil with sex.  Evil or unholy sexual practices have brought various evils, sorrows and destruction upon man and the world continuously –  we will discuss some of these evils later in this workshop.

3. Sexual Purity

Sexual purity is using and practicing sex strictly as God expects and recommends in His word– the Bible.  God does not expect us to have sex as animals do.  Unfortunately, the more civilization man has the more like animal he behaves in matters of sex, all in the name of freedom and liberation.

In our working Bible readings, God’s stand on sexual purity is very clear.  Anyone who does not understand has deliberately chosen not to.  Even then we shall try to:

1. make the righteous standard clear
2. make the possibility of sexual purity clear as well.
3. make us to see the power to be sexually pure.
